How The Daily Mail uses Language to Distribute Blame
This is a link to a language investigation that I completed as part of my English Language A-Level. In this, I compare the difference in the Daily Mail’s language use when reporting on the behaviour of the attendees for each summer celebration and the unfairness of linguistic manipulation.
It almost goes without saying that the demographic for each festival plays a large factor in this investigation. It would have been more accurate, though more inflammatory, if it were titled something like:
“Adult Hooligans or Boisterous Teenagers : it’s Black or White…”
